Lori Lee Rodrigues
Lori loves to travel and make art. Right out of school, she packed up her saddle and headed for the desert. She found that her love of nature, horses and art complemented one another well. She guided on horseback in Sunriver, Oregon, Palm Springs, California, and Gardner, Montana.
A native to Oregon, Lori landed in Silverton, where she fell in love — with history. She began researching the stories and painting murals in 1995. Dividing her time across Oregon’s Pacific Northwest, she worked for veterinarians, in hospitality, in visitor services, and became an interpretive ranger at Oregon’s largest state park, Silver Falls. Lori recently moved her studio from Silver Creek where it’s been since 2006, to her home on the outside of Portland under an enormous walnut tree.
All the while, she painted. She painted in oils, watercolors, pastels, ink, clay, acrylics… she painted faces, cards, illustrations, exhibits, trims, walls, canvas, benches, heritage sites, and grain silos. Lori’s art is often a reflection on a personal interest, a moment or place from her travels. “These experiences came from following a path of passions and my art will keep cycling back to them.” She says. You can see her artwork, primarily in watercolor and acrylic, at Lunaria Gallery in Silverton, where she has shown her work for more than 15 years.
